Another quickie

Wanted to throw out a quick point form blog about some recent things:

- Been trying to show my mom the power of Google Earth and street view. Unfortunately street view won't work on the area where she's from (Miri, Malaysia). Her explanation was that its because the satellites are closer to Canada than they are Malaysia, so of course we can see the streets of North America. LOL why is it that Asian parents think they know the logical answer to things they have no expertise on?

-On the same topic of Asian parents, I recently looked up my arthritis medicine on the internet and found out that I shouldn't take it with over the counter cold/flu medication (since they can contain a lot of the similar drugs). I told this to my dad in my explanation of why I'm not gonna take cold/flu medicine. He asked me how much arthritis medicine I take in a day, then when I told him he re-assured me that I'm okay to take that Tylenol Flu. I didn't realize his many years of mechanics gave him the ability to examine my prescription dosage and make an informed decision. His reasoning went like this, 'Of course you should be able to take some kind of Tylenol Cold medicine with your medicine. If you couldn't, then how would you get better from a cold?'. I thought I had anti-bodies but now I realize that I was obviously mistaken. :P

- Got my first job offer last Friday (more on that later this week). Made me start thinking of a list of things to buy when I become employed. It went something like this:

1) A new bar of soap
2) A 2nd pair of underwear to rotate with.

No but seriously... underwear is expensive these days, so I don't want to jump the gun on that one. Maybe next Christmas if I'm lucky..

- I've been trying to visit some stores to spend some giftcards. Normally I wouldn't have to think of what I want to buy in these stores, but for some reason I can't bring myself to using these giftcards for anything. Maybe my spending habits have changed. Or maybe I'm more frugal when spending someone else's money, even if it was a gift to me. No that doesn't make sense..

- Before last weekend, I started getting sick. It sucks cause I had a new gym routine worked out that I wanted to try out. So I started asking myself, 'How come you're not supposed to workout when you're sick? What's the worst that could happen?'. I had no answer for this in my head, so I went to basketball on Saturday and I found my answer. Being sick and doing physical activity makes you want to kill yourself. You run at 30% of your capacity if you're lucky and you're completely out of breath.

- Google Earth is a great way to reminisce about previous vacations you've taken. I just went to the street level and scoped out 3 different hotels I stayed at on 3 different vacations. It was a fun way to re-live the experience.

- I think this is the first time I'm completely satisfied with one portion of my wardrobe. I realized yesterday that I have enough shorts to wear for an entire week. And not just regular shorts. I'm not sure if anyone else is like this, but I have 2 different classes of shorts: shorts I like, and the other ones I don't. The ones I don't like are usually too short, or they have the uncomfortable mess lining on the inside, or they have no pockets. The shorts that I can outfit myself for an entire week are the ones that I like to wear, so there really is no point in buying more shorts.

- That's another thing, what is the point of shorts without pockets?! That frustrates me! Has anyone ever worn a pair of shorts and thought to themselves 'Aww man, I wish these shorts had no pockets! I hate convenience!'. That's like refusing to buy a TV that has a remote control to it. It's a mystery of the universe that continues to rear its ugly head.
