You can't always get what you want
But if you try sometimes.............. Finish that lyric! Anywho, this post is dedicated to my unquenchable hunger to buy stuff. Lately with my comission cheque coming in the next week, I've been eye-balling a bunch of things that I've wanted to get. It's funny because this is totally a common practice among all of my friends. And it's always a bunch of stuff you really don't need at all, but would be more cool to have. Still I find it always helps to have an actual list laid out somewhere, so why not make it on my blog? Maybe this'll give me some perspective on what I do and don't need. Also this might shine some light on possible birthday gifts (although I don't really expect any from friends seeing as I've had a horrible reputation for buying gifts lately).
The List:
- Refurbished MacBook ($899)
- Gold Gilbert Arenas Wizards Jersey with handstitched numbers ($75 on ebay)
- Oilers Third Jersey ($60 with my mall discount) or new RBK jersey ($150? Not sure)
- Something new for my guitar (??)
- Ipod portable speaker ($50)
- New Sofa for the basement ($199-$500)
- Blackberry Curve ($275 with 3 yr plan and data)
- Blu-Ray Player ($250-350)
- New basketball? ($20-40) [Okay now I'm really reaching]
- BC Trip ($800)
- New Dress Shoes ($50-100)
- New Boots ($50-100)
- Drumset? (400-500) [Reaching, once again]
- Acting classes ($300-500)
- Singing classes ($50-100 per month)
- Breakdance classes (?? per month)
- Tennis Raquet ($20-100)
- Massage ($50)
- New Car (??)
- Bicycle ($100-150)
- Golf Membership (??) [Now I'm just trying to add things to the list]
- Dog (??) [Okay, now I'm getting carried away]
I've actually noticed just by looking at the list that there's certain things that I would enjoy/use more than others that I wouldn't have guessed. For the really expensive things, I think the Blu-ray player / sofa / macbook are really low on the list while having a drumset would be really enjoyable if I could find a way to make it work for the house. Also for the less expensive things, with spring coming up, I think i'd get more use out of the bicycle / massage / gilbert arenas jersey than i would out of the portable ipod speaker / boots / tennis raquet. Although the boots / shoes is more of a necessity as mine are fairly old and raggedy.
Anyhow, that was an eye-opening process. I've gotta do this more often..
