The Epitome of Retarded

I'm not quite sure what is more retarded, the thing that I'm going to be referring to, or the fact that I didn't see it's retardedness coming..

What am I referring to? I guess I have to start off by admitting a truly terrible secret about myself. Okay here it goes....

I tried to watch some Naruto today..

I know, it's terrible.. But it gets worse. I came across this really retarded scene while flipping through old episodes in an attempt to see if the series was worth watching again.

The completely retarded thing that I'm referring to happened a bunch of episodes back. I'll give you the gist of what happened so you don't have to waste 19,000 hours of your life to finally get to an interesting part of the series. I'll be as general as you can so you can follow along.

Anyway, so this team of ninjas (Lee's team for all you keeners) are fighting clones of themselves that were made because they triggered a trap. So it shows them fighting for several episodes, and you get the general idea that these clones can do whatever abilities the regular ones can, and are thus kicking the originals' asses.

At one point, they begin to question whether the clones are getting tougher since the ass kicking becomes more apparent with time. Then they figure out that in fact, they themselves are getting weaker instead since the fight is lasting so fricken long and they're naturally getting tired and non-human clones don't get tired. They assume that the clones are therefore the same strength that they used to be when they first tripped the trap. This leads to another question they ask themselves: how are they gonna beat the clones, seeing as with more time, they themselves are getting more tired?

I'm kinda intrigued at this point. Okay, it makes sense.......what could they do? Hmm most likely they'll pull out some secret move or powerup in true anime style and become stronger than their clones right? Right?

So then one of them comes up with a 'foolproof' plan (it was Lee). The rest of the ninjas listen as they are lost for ideas of how to get out of this complex web of trouble that they're in.

Lee's solution: The clones are the strength we used to be a few hrs ago right? Well, we just have to become stronger than them! Then we'll win!

At this point, I'm thinking: "Okay.............soooo power up time?"

After hearing this gem of advice from Lee, the rest of the group acts as if they've stumbled upon the cure for Aids. This is the retarded part. However, instead of powering up or doing some funky move in usual anime fashion, the show continues by showing all of the ninjas trying harder.... Nope, no secret crazy moves or anything, just hopeful music while they try harder...

Me: "WHAT THE FUCK?! You didn't think of trying harder BEFORE the brilliant plan? Wow, you guys definitely aren't ninjas.. You couldn't outsmart them by, I don't know, running away maybe? Instead, you opted to follow the plan to try harder and defeat them with your crafty battle tactics of trying your best...

That's the shittiest writing ever... I hate you Naruto, no more 2nd chances for you. Get behind me Satan!"

I think the fact that I'm willing to blog about this right away shows how genuinely retarded and upsetting this series is. It really confuses and mystifies me how so many people can follow such a series.. You know 24 could never get away with this garbage.

It's like if Jack Bauer was tied up and being tortured in a chair and there was a nuke implanted in his head that was gonna go off in 5 seconds.

Terrorist: "How are you gonna get outta this one Bauer?"
Jack Bauer: ".........I'm gonna try harder...."

Jack explodes and breaks free from his handcuffs, shackles, and drug enduced sluggishness killing the 15 terrorists surrounding him in the process. Then he wills the bomb to stop counting down while also teleporting it to Al Quaeda's headquarters into Osama's appendix...

Complete crap...
