Everyone loves a slinky!
What walks down stairs,
alone or in pairs,
and makes a slinkity sound?
Hehe what a great tune.. Anyway I wanted to mention it because it has somewhat relevance to my blog.
If you were a kid back when slinky's came out, you'd know how cool they were and how everyone wanted one. IT WALKS DOWN STAIRS! Not just alone, but ALSO in pairs! DOUBLE!!(1.) Anyway, once you got it home, yeah sure it was pretty cool, but it really didn't do much more without any staircase in sight.
The more I write this blog, the more I realize that it has nothing to do with slinky's and that the video was more of a funny nostalgic thing. I'll just get to my real point.
This fall I'm hoping to become a full-time student and try not to work at all. The likelihood of this success is very low with my spending patterns and all of the upcoming bills I can already foresee. Still though, if I were to pick up a new job it would only be part-time and wouldn't give me much to spend. This is where I meet my conundrum.
As summer wraps up, you would think I would be hording (sp?) my money like a bear hordes (sp?) food for it's long winter hibernation. Instead actually, I've found that there are even more things that I want to buy with my oh so limited money. For kicks, I'll make a list of things that I want to spend money on:
1) A musical instrument (guitar or drums)
2) Lessons for the instrument
3) Xbox 360
4) Winter Tires
5) New tower speakers for my TV
6) A Medicine ball for my workout equipment
7) Gym Membershup fees
8) Gifts for birthdays/christmas
9) Pitching in for my dad's retirement vacation trip.
Here's a bunch of things I've already spent money on that I didn't have to:
1) Justin Timberlake Ticket $120
2) Guitar Hero 80's $60
3) Wireless Guitar $50
4) Donkey Kongas $30 I think? (I know that it was 2 years ago, but it was so pointless that I thought it was worth mentioning again).
5) Paints to finish my Warhammer painting $50
In all, it's looking to be a pretty rough season ahead of me. With daily expenses such as eating out, parking downtown for school, and gas money it's definitely going to be tough going without a job. Let's just say that any contributions from the Bank of Random Grandpa Payouts is definitely accepted and appreciated. So much so, that I bought him a nice big clock for his room when his broke down to show my appreciation. That sucker cost me 13 whole bucks! I think we're pretty even for the thousands of dollars he's randomly given me throughout the years.
"No, don't call me a hero.
Do you know who the real heroes are?
The guys who wake up every morning and go into their normal jobs, and get a distress call from the commissioner, and take off their glasses and change into capes, and fly around fighting crime.
Those are the real heroes."
(1.) Reference to double churned bryer's icecream. HOW much joy is there?
