It's been a long time (long time). I shouldn't have left you (left you)
Needless to say, it's been a while since my last blog. Yet it's also very shocking to see how much can change within that time frame. They might not be revolutionary changes, but still pretty important in the scheme of one month.
1) My church. We just had a huge announcement that one of the pastors at our church is going to be leaving us in mid July. Heather and her family have been going to Gateway for over 15 years now, so that's pretty huge. She'll definitely be missed by many of the people who have attended the church for a while.
2) School. I think since the last time I blogged, I've written 2 midterms of my summer class and my correspondence class has officially started. Not really much to say about the topic, mainly because it's boring to talk about.
3) The movie shoot. I probably get the most questions about this one, I think mainly because of how out of the ordinary it is to be able to say 'Yep, I'm acting in a movie'. I had my latest filming day last Sunday. To be honest, as the date was coming closer to the shoot, I was dreading it hardcore. It's definitely intimidating to step into that kind of role that you've never done before and get used to the art of film which can be completely opposite of theatre. But as usual, like all things I normally dread, it turned out amazingly well. I'm starting to have lots of fun just hanging out with the cast and crew of the movie, so it doesn't really feel like a job or chore anymore. I also like to think that I've gotten used to adapting my theatre tendencies into things I can use for film.
4) The script. Me and Vic have actually started the brainstorming process for a script that we're hoping to write and film as soon as we can. All I can say is that it's going to be a comedy, and it's gonna be completely fun to film. I can't wait to work some of these ideas that we have on paper into an enjoyable show. Which reminds me, we need to meet up again...
5) Broke-ass broke. Considering that I'm planning on not working for my last year at school, finances are going to be very very rough for the next year. My car insurance payment is coming up right away, as well as my licence plate registration. It's definitely weird to be in that position where you have to look at all the money you spend microscopically close. And it's also hard to budget for it, when you have some unforeseen income (grandpa giving money, getting paid back for tuition, etc.)
I guess it was less things than I had originally thought. But it's always good to look back at what's changed in a month, especially when it's summertime. I'm still in disbelief at exactly how fast the summer can go if you don't take the time to plan things out or look back on what you actually did. I've still got a number of things on the list that need to be done, but I'm sure that will come with next month. One of those includes swimming lessons. Time to sleep though..
