Thoughts that ran across my mind
I had the day off today, so I had some time do goto some places to take care of some things. While doing this myself, a number of thoughts crossed my mind:
- Although everyone who wants to do TV work often thinks about being a newscaster as one of the jobs they could end up doing, I wonder how many people actually think about being a sportscaster. Sports commentators seem to have lots of fun in their jobs and they get to joke around with the people they work with. They also get to meet some really cool athletes firsthand, and get the best seats to some very expensive games. What kind of skills would you need to fulfill a position like that? A really cool sounding voice, ability to some things up really quickly and clearly when plays are going on, knowledge of the sport and athletes, etc. It would be a really cool world to get into.
- I wonder what kind of script my friend is coming up with. Just recently I bumped into an old friend of mine from my days at Futureshop who is a part time film director/producer/writer. Of course we're talking the amateur kind, but still very cool to hear. Anyway we reconnected and he told me he was writing a script for this May that he would like to turn into a movie. Now that we've met, he wants to find some kind of way to work me into the script, and when he figures out and finishes the script, he's gonna send it to me. What a cool opportunity.
- How comes all the clouds left only when the sun was about to set? What's up with that?
- There is really a benefit to keeping a tidy Ipod. I always thought that having as much music on there as you can before you fill up the Ipod completely, was the best thing you could do. My logic was that then there'd be a freak chance that I would have the urge to listen to a song that I would normally not even consider listening to. Also there could be a chance that one of your friends whose with you would want to listen to a song that maybe isn't a part of your regular taste. Well, after organizing some playlists on my ipod, I realized that it took me close to an hour of sorting just to make a single playlist of R&B songs that I would actually listen to. I guaruntee you that 70% of the time was spent looking through all these crap songs I had on there for no reason. And of course there's the fact that just because it's R&B, doesn't mean it makes the list. If I have songs on there for the hell of having songs on there, then those songs really don't end up getting played all too often, or at all. So what's the point of having MP3's on your 'MP3 player' when you know you won't play them?
- 20 pieces of McNuggets is never as good of an idea as it first seems before you buy it.
- Why doesn't McDonalds ever salt their fries anymore? Is it just me, or have other people had experiences where there was no salt at all on their fries after they got them? That's happened to me 4 times now at different locations.
- Why does 24 suck this season?
Anyway, that's the majority of my post-worthy thoughts. I just want to leave you with this funny video that I came across after watching Attack of the Show on Tech TV (such a funny show). To give a little bit of an introduction, the girl in the video is watching another infamous Youtube video where a dad has a funny laugh on a program called 'comedy barn' or something like that. I would have linked that video too, but the Youtube search function is temporarily unavailable. Either way, this video made me laugh.
