A Walk down memory lane

I caught myself digging through the internet today on my usual Saturday routine, and I found some really interesting and cool stuff.

Very often you'll see on any tv channel, a show that or segment that does well, and then suddenly disappears. Do you ever wonder what happened to that actor who played the lead? What's he/she up to? Or what about that small little guy who did nothing? Okay, pretend you do wonder that sometimes. Because I wonder that too. I've also wondered if what they are referred to on TV is often their real name? I was told at an TV acting seminar to choose a stage name for myself for safety purposes.

Anyway, all this nostalgic thinking and looking back, got me to wondering about one specific person: PJ Fresh Phil. For anyone who was a huge YTV fan back in the mid 90's or so, PJ Phil Guerero was a program jockey for YTV's hit segment "The Zone" that aired 3-6 PM. A normal guest that he'd have along with him would be the purple talking television set named "Snit". Anywho, Phil was totally awesome, and I really looked up to him as a kid. I guess a big part of what was so cool about him was that he really had an ability to entertain people. I remember one time in my childhood years spotting him at K-days, and following him around to where-ever he'd walk to. I think he got slightly annoyed that I stood right next to him while he was having a conversation in the phone booth, and he was finally able to lose me at at roller rink type dealy where normal walking shoes wouldn't suffice. Bastard Phil...........

For anyone who followed the Zone back in that time period, I've been able to find a demo reel that someone posted on youtube of a bunch of his works. He also has a myspace page as well that's not hard to find if you look hard enough. I think this just proves the point that the internet really is making the world smaller, and it allows you to really follow the life of someone you're interested in. This could range from someone as big as Zach Braff at his personal webpage, or someone as low as PJ Phil on his myspace page. It still amazes me that you can send a message to any of these people, and know with a good degree of confidence that they are reading what you sent them and may send something back.

Here's that cool demo reel: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ds43zbBJKs0
