Think about it. Where do you wanna go-oooo? ....

For those of you who didn't catch on right away, that's my version of the Rockapella tune for the old gameshow "Where in the World is Carmen San Diego?" It used to play as the little kid (the contestant) finally caught Carmen's accomplice and put him in jail. Then the accomplice would start squealing about where they think Carmen is hiding just before the huge world map game is played. Anyway, at this point the kid gets to decide exactly where in the world they want to go if they're able to win the gameshow.

I started to think about if I were in that same particular situation and if I had the choice to go anywhere in the world, where would I go? After some thought and pondering, my brain started to go into overdrive once again and I began thinking about how huge the world really is. Me and Sharisse kind of had this conversation on a car ride home, and the best way I can describe the vastness of the world is: Gi-freaking-mother-normous!

If you knew me well, you would also know that I'm huge on the entire comparing scopes sorta deal. The way I see this one is, imagine yourself downtown during Canada Day weekend. The streets are packed full of people right? I know of many people who can't stand being there just because it's such a tight setting and there's just way too many people there. Edmonton has a population of 1,000,000 give or take. Think of how many people are there on Canada day. Realistically, 10-20 thousand? Even if we were to go overboard and say that there was half the city present at that even (500,000,) it still pales in comparison to the entire world. No one person will EVER meet every single person on any of the 4 sides of Edmonton, let alone the 1,000,000 citizens of Edmonton. That's huge already, but you look at Alberta has a whole, that's even WAY more massive, and we haven't even gotten out of the country yet.

Now I may have gotten a little offtrack and started talking about population rather than spacial geography, but still, who can say that they've been to every location in Alberta? I really don't think many people can say that, I doubt even a single person.

The point is that whenever people think of travelling to a far off destination, they often think of the overly popular destinations (ie: Hawaii, Toronto, New York, Tokyo, Paris, etc). But in reality, the map is so much more open than it seems. Think of those places that not many people mention, but would still be a great destination. For example: Newfoundland, Ireland, Spain, New Zealand, Brazil. There are so many possibilities, and it absolutely shatters my mind to think that there are more destinations in this world than I will ever ever ever have the opportunity to goto. And that's just speaking about Earth, other planets are a whole different story!

To answer my own question, where would I go? Right now I'd have to say Japan or Australia, but really the possibilities are huge.

As someone who has travelled most of Canada (except Newfoundland, Nunavut, and the Yukon), there is a lot to see within this country that people just overlook for the flashy places like Mexico.

I know one of the main places I would like to see other than Italy is Atlantic Canada again -- that was one of my most memorable vacations as a child.

The world is actually quite small and getting smaller with the advent and the advancement in e-technology. The speed and pace at we we can connect to people around the world is mind blowing. Soon no one will be safe from my "Death Ray" with should be ariving within 4 business days...muhuhuhahahahahhahaha
