A Great Way to Procrastinate

Alright well today I thought my exam started at 3:00 PM, so here I am at the school bright and early (2:20ish) and polishing up on some topics for the exam. In just a few moments, the clock turns 3, and I pack my stuff to write the exam. I goto the room that we're supposed to write in only to find it with light turns off and door locked. So I come back to the computer room and I check with everyone else, and it turns out my exam actually starts at 6 PM. So now I have 3 hrs to burn for an exam that I was totally ready for at 3:00. What can I do for 3 hours?

If you ever find yourself in the same situation, I have a few suggestions. Well the first one might be obvious; you could STUDY some more! But yeah sometimes you're just sick of studying and pretty confident about your knowledge, so it was pretty obvious to me I wasn't gonna study for the full 3 hrs.

So instead, another alternative that I would suggest to anyone else whose just trying to kill some time is to clean out your email account. It really is surprising how fun it is. Yes of course there's always those retarded emails you get from spammers about how "Hot Latina Girls are waiting for You azncoolguy_69!" or input whatever retarded email address you made as a kid. But yes, don't let those few hundred advertisements and malicious emails ruin your fun. Once you sort through the crap, you start to find old treasures where you would eleast expect it. For me, I was able to read at least 10 different emails giving me various acting and audition tips that I subscribed to ages ago. I was also able to find some old club fit emails that offered some new workout exercises that I'm determined to try in this next week.

But I think the best of them all is the ACTUAL emails you receive from friends and family. For me it was kind of a vessel that brought me back a few years. I think it's so effective in doing this because email is one of those really comfortable ways that you can keep in touch with each other, but it always tends to trail off somewhere with one of the people failing to reply. I was able to find emails coming way back near the time of high school grad, post secondary nervousness, and old crushes I used to have on girls in the past. I compare the experience to looking back at those old hand written notes you used to pass around class during grade school. The kinds of notes that were about the most insignificant thoughts, but are now enough to make you laugh. One of my discoveries actually led me to email an old friends from Grant Macewan I used to look up to and hopefully strike up a new conversation with the guy.

All in all, the whole process took me about an hour, and that's pretty good considering everytime I sign into messenger I get reminded of my "387 unread emails." And given the circumstances, I still have about an hour and a half to study for my exam, still way more than I need. So for the adventurous, give this activity a try. It really is interesting how many different things you'll find.

Once I started to look for a job I realized how important it was to have an actual Email that you have to check, cause what would a company think when on your resume it says your email is dragons4evaawesome@hotmail.com
