Everyone else has one, so I want one! Wait, I don't want one, I NEED one!!!..................do I really?
So I've run into the recent dilemma of constant cashflow once again. I know that to some of you this may seem very awkward, for me to address any kind of cashflow as a problem, but hear me out. I've just found that with the more money I make, the quicker I spend it. Although in the long run, my net cash income will be higher with the more money I make, even after taking into account about the sharp increase in spending, I just find that it becomes so much more stressful with managing and fighting off that urge for impulse buys. For anyone whose worked in big spurts, they know what I mean when I say that you just get those moments where you believe you've earned something because of all of your work hours. It really does become tough to say no to the new fancy merchandise that totally makes you spend more than you earn but could be sitting in your room at that very moment.
For me, it's been the urge to buy a laptop and trying to justify my need for one with the fall semester coming up. It's funny cause I've talked to many people at Futureshop about this feeling, and they all relate. It's just that nagging gut feeling you get when you really really want something so much that you're prepared to research the product and what a reasonable price should be. Yet at the same time you know in the back of your mind that it's just gonna end up sitting there in your living room doing nothing, or at best just fulfilling the same functions that your desktop PC already does. And then your less reasonable side kicks in, convincing you that there will be that one time where having a laptop will completely be worthwhile and be worth having bought it early. It also tends to say that there must be some good deals on laptops that you'll never ever see again in the future ever. But we all know that it's totally not the case. But for whatever reason it is, there's still a part of me that will look through the laptop prices in a flyer and hunt for a really really good deal on one. Frick is it ever annoying!
Oh how the mind wanders...

I think I told you this before, but I don't think I'll ever buy another laptop again, except for work, in which case it will probably be provided. My problem with my laptop is that it has basically been turned into a desktop computer. On top of this, I can't play any current games on it, since the video card sucks and probably can't be switched out. While I admit that it sometimes comes in handy that I can take my computer with me on a trip, I don't think that is worth buying a brand new laptop. My advice: if you really want a laptop, buy a used or somewhat outdated one, since you don't really need the latest in speed or whatnot on a machine that can't really be upgraded. Personally, I would rather buy a PDA or a Blackberry.

I dont think that you should get a laptop mostly because its most likely going to become laptop for games. But if you are going to use it for school and if it makes you do better then sure
Games + School = BLEH!
School enhancing product + school = GOOD?
but I wouldn't suggest buying a laptop.
I have no idea how I missed this update! I think its because everytime I come here I see Jessica Alba load up and think, well Dev didn't update!
Unless you see yourself using the laptop in a classroom, there isn't much reason to get one. I would say get a flash disk to bring files from home to school, but you don't even need a flashdisk since you've got the mp3 player.
