"I am slowly going crazy......"
Yeah I just need to blog in order to keep myself sane. Anyway, it's been quite the struggle through exams, but I am finally done 2 of my 4 finals that I am to write. I won't go into detail as how they went for the fact that no one will know what I'm talking about course specifically, and it's just a little depressing. The fact of the matter is that I've decided to stay up all night for 2 days in a row to study for this continuous onslaught of exams.
I guess when you first read that, it may sound astounding while nauseating. Staying up for practically two days straight with no sleep. But let me assure you, that's not quite the case as when I got home from my 2nd exam, I completely crashed on my bed for about 5 hrs in the afternoon, just to wake up and be at it again. So I guess technically I'm not staying up "all night" for both days, but I'm more picking when and how much sleep I get. And frankly, it's not nearly as much as I really need.
This in itself lets me come to some key lessons learned. One being that the only reason why anyone would ever be stuck in this kind of position to begin with is only because of their own stubborness. I'm gonna say right here that I'm not going to sit here and sulk about how I HAVE to do this and how I'm not allowed to get any sleep. Because that's completely not the case. The fact of the matter is that I missed too many Business Law and Statistics classes than what was healthy for my GPA, and now I'm in trouble. The classes were relatively early, and I missed them primarily to sleeping past my alarm, but it's still my fauly because I should know how much sleep I need in order to get up on time.
Yes but anyway that's the current situation that I have to deal with. Now lots of ppl argue that getting no sleep screws you more than it helps because of the lack of thinking power you get without sleep. And also there have been studies that apparently prove that for every hour of sleep you miss, you lose approximately 5 IQ, according to what Tom said. Despite all of this, I still have to say that what I'm doing right now at this moment is for the best. Mainly because I don't know some areas of the course material, means that no matter the lack of sleep or not, if I don't know it to begin with, how is the better ability to recall information going to help me? Some others would argue that sleep gives you a better sense of rationalization during exams, but I find that for me personally, you can only rationalize so much of the test no matter how much sleep you get. This being partially due to the time constraints of writing finals, and the way the prof's set up the exam to eliminate giving away any answers through detective work. Hehe, either way, this next final that I'll be writing in 4.5 hrs lets me bring in a cheatsheet, which I'm in the process of editing right now.
It really does suck to have all of your finals on consecutive days in an academic sense, but in a reality sense, it works really well. Some ppl say that it's too much to be expected to have us write such long exams on so much material in such a short amt. of time. But the way I figure it, even if they gave us a week in between each test, it's not going to help a majority of us as most of us don't take studying seriously until it gets into crunch time or past crunch time. It's the procrastinator's code.
Anyway, this blog probably didn't make sense due to how late in the morning it is. That's ok though because it was mainly a form of relief from typing my cheatsheet than anything.
P.S. Conan + Kevin Spacey = Greatest Conan interview EVER!!
P.P.S. Suprnova is so awesome....
