Blogging about blogging
Hmm, I wonder if HTML coding will work for this anymore. Well if you see any random codes in my blog, don't mind them, just been having some trouble formatting my blogs lately. You could probably tell from the last blog I posted.
I just recently started to read up on some of the old blogs from my archives. What I found was that even though it seems like I've had this blog for forever and a half, that isn't the case at all. Just reading the very first blog I put up, it was dated back in Nov 03, which when you think about it, hasn't been very long at all. Yet, in this very short time, I could see such a development in my writing.
In my earliest blogs, for every single one you could find at least one punctuality or spelling mistake. I was actually quite surprised to find this when I normally tend to be more strict with that kind of stuff. But when one looks back at those blogs, it becomes plain and simple that I was making lots of mistakes.
Of course now it seems I've changed my tune. I guess my writing matured puncuality/grammar/sentence structure/diction wise. I can especially see the diction part changing when I'm even using words such as diction in my own blog. Whether or not these improvements are a good thing, that still has to be determined. Obviously as a writer, I appear more intelligent and more civilized in my current writing style. But after looking back at the early blogs, it seems to me like I've lost the magic of blogging. To me blogging represents a method of ranting on about things you believe in and things that make you angry, which helps deal with stress and really lets you speak your mind. I haven't been doing a lot of that lately, and I think a big part of it is because my mind has become restricted to formal writing formats, puncuality and everything like that. I compare it to a child growing to adulthood, and how the power of his imagination starts to diminish because of a better understanding of how the real world works and why it is how it is. A pretty big comparison for a year old blog, but you get my point.
I think the key is that I need stop myself from stopping and considering what I just typed 2 seconds ago. It seems that I take pauses much more often in my typing than I used to, mainly to hit the backspace button to correct mistakes, but also because I'm half analyzing how I may have worded something. Just as myself reading my own blogs, it didn't even sound familiar to me anymore, and there were times where I even questioned if it was actually me who wrote some of things I have written about. Some trippy stuff.
Again I've gotten kinda bored in mid-blog, so I'll get back into blogging next time. There's actually some decently big news that I still have yet to share for next time, so stay tuned!
