Big Developments
It kind of feels strange blogging about big news at about 3 AM on a monday morning. The main reason I have to thank for that is Half Life 2. So I'll blog about that first.
Now for anyone who knows me well, they would say that I know my games (probably much much more than I really should). And with that said, I have to say that Half Life 2 is such a great game! Oh man, just the amount of different things you get to do, and we're only talking about single player! If you really thought Halo 2 was fun on campaign, you've really seen nothing yet. Half Life 2, although it lacks the co-op campaign option, easily makes up for it by implementing completely new features never before seen in any kind of games.
A big one in this respect being real application physics (at least to my miniscule knowledge of physics). Yeah I know what some of you may be saying, "That's old news Dev! I remember back in Duke Nukem 3D when you could play pool with your hands, and that there is physics!" But no, this kind of physics seems so ahead of it's time it's unreal. Such things included in the game are a great deal of environmental manipulation. I mean, 25% through the game you get a freakin Gravity gun. Now this allows you to throw whatever happens to be next to you, let it be a car, or a frying pan, into the enemies' face! And not just that, but you can kill them with it! So I found that really cool along with the sometimes tricky puzzles they may include in a level. A great example is an instance where you have to actually stack heavy boxes on one side of a teetertotter in order to be able to form a bridge across a platform. Violent AND Educational.
Anyway, I fear I'm going to run outta steam before I actually get to the main part of my blog, so I'll just conclude about Half Life 2 by saying that superior AI, vehicle driving capabilities, great level design, and unique array of weapons makes this perhaps my all time favorite first person shooter for campaign EVER.
Onto more important things. I just had the unfortunate luck to hear that this hot Multimedia chick that I've been pursuing for weeks now, apparently has a bf. I say apparently because it has not yet been determined due to a number of reasons in my perspective. First being the fact I've never seen the guy in person at all. Two being that she never even mentioned a bf any time in the past. Three being the fact that everyone else sees and agrees that she keeps hitting on me! Now last time I checked, when you had a bf/gf, hitting on others was a known taboo. But that was two years ago for me, maybe times have changed :S. What's even more screwed is that she gave me her phone number, but I think she was trying to cover her tracks saying that she had to show me some kind of choreography for some presentation. . Anyway, it's a fucked up situation, that Kev, Tony, and I were able to discuss through lunch. It really is interesting how many different courses of action are possible even after hearing some fact like having a bf that you would think would shut down almost all possibilities. But thanks to Tony and Kev for the talk, I feel really guilty about making this situation into such a big thing, and kind of smothering you guys with it. But like great friends, they let me drone on about it, and gave me input without complaints. If anyone else wants to know the whole situation, let me know, because I'm not overly private about these kinds of circumstances, and I'd love to hear other feedback.
So yeah, with that and the fact that I suddenly mysteriously lost my cell phone this same morning, so that in combination with the whole girl problem thing made my long awaited sunday morning PRETTY crappy! So don't bother calling on my cell for about a week or so, as I have no idea where it is. I've narrowed it down to the possibilities of being maybe in the church, somewhere in my mom's car, or now that I think of it, it could have dropped in the church parking lot. Frick I really hope it's not that last option, considering it's been snowing the past 2 days. Man, now I'm paranoid.
I'll try to steer this whole blog into a lighter mood by announcing that I've finally decided to get Baptised. Yeah that was the big news I wanted to share with everyone. The baptism will happen at my church (which I'll post the address on a later date), and it'll be on December the 12th, at 10 AM. I invite anyone whose interested in coming out, I'd really appreciate whatever support I can muster up, but of course if ppl already have plans then that's cool too. I'm actually really glad about the whole thing, but now I can't stop thinking about where my cell might be. The more I think of it, the higher the possibility of it being out in the parking lot becomes. Not cool....
