Yet another blog to fill a night of staying up for completely no reason at all.

So I saw "Day after tomorrow" on DVD just today. And much like everyone else said, it was overall a good movie. Though it was slow near the later parts of the movie, it was just stunning to watch all of the computer graphics they put into the movie and watch the mayhem unfold. Also a plus to the movie was that all of the reasoning behind the disaster itself made sense, at least to a normal scientifically-naive person such as myself, unlike the Core did. So I recommend this one for a watch.

Also I came to some conclusions while watching the movie:

1) Jake Gylenhaal should have been Peter Parker!: Just after watching this movie, and following the character that Jake portrays, you can't help but notice that the guy totally looks like a Peter Parker! For those of you who don't know who Jake is, he's the actor that's currently going out with Kirsten Dunst. If you still don't know, then he's also the actor who played the Bubble Boy in the movie, unfortunately.. But don't hold that against him forever, a guy's gotta start somewhere! Don't get me wrong, Tobey looks very similar to Peter Parker as well, except he looks like the more pussy Peter Parker. He just has the frail body, and adolescent kind of voice. And you can also tell that him and Kirsten Dunst just don't click as well. Whereas an existing relationship between Jake and Kirsten already exists, and it would be 100X easier for them to have chemistry. In fact, I've heard a few stories that originally for Spiderman 2, Tobey had demanded for more money this time around from the director Sam Raimi. After hearing this, Sam quickly turned to Jake to see if he wanted the part. Once Tobey saw his only successful role and future role crumbling before him, he was quick to turn back into the pussy he really is and accept his regular pay. Too bad Sam Raimi isn't a dick, or else he would have hired Jake Gylenhaal just in spite! The bright side though is that it's rumored that Jake is supposed to play Cletus Kassidy better known as Carnage in the future Spiderman films. We'll just have to see how that turns out.

I know that was really long winded, but back to my conclusion count:

2) Dennis Quaid kicks ass: I'm not quite sure what it is, but something about this guy and every movie he's in makes it that much cooler. He just has that rugged look, but at the same time he looks like a genuine father and perhaps even a potentially smart individual. Nonetheless, he rocks!

3) They should make temperature changing Movie Theatres: Just after watching the movie, I figured that it would have sucked a lot more if I had watched it in a room full of windows, and it was a gorgeous day outside. Luckily for me, I was in the basement where there are no windows near the computer I was watching it on, and it was fricken cold as usual in the basement (Or is that unluckily for me...?) But can you imagine if they geared theatres so that you could experience the heat of the explosions or the cold wind of a meat cooler? I know the idea would totally be a flop if made into reality, but I think it was just be awesome to experience it for atleast one movie.

In other news, on my quick trip to blockbuster, I preordered myself a copy of not just Halo 2, but Halo 2 the Limited Edition! That's right biatches! This copy cost 10 bucks more, but it comes with a hard metal case, and a bonus DVD of how the game was made and such. ALSO according to Beta, it comes with some kind of unknown bonus feature that they haven't released details about yet. My logic was that if I was gonna get Halo 2, that it was gonna be the centre piece to my Xbox. So why not spend the extra 10 bucks for the shiny/cool copy. In addition to that, because I preordered it from blockbuster, I get the extra 20% off the cost. So that 69.99 suddenly turns into a 54 something, and I'm happy. But again another stipulation that Beta brought up was the fact that perhaps our copies of Halo 2 will arrive late because Blockbuster doesn't treat games with top priority. That would be gay, seeing as I'm supposed to bring a copy of the game along with my XBOX to Project Halo 2 (see Ryan's blog for details). Therefore it would force me to pay money to rent a game that I technically own, just to use it for that one day. And that's still depending on whether we will have any more rental copies by the time I get there. Risky stuff....
