Don't you hate that feeling of impending doom that comes when assignments pile up outta nowhere? Yeah that's how I'm feeling right now.
It's weird this year because I don't see myself as a procrastinator, seeing as I do my work when I have to. But the main problem I'm finding with this week is that I scheduled or was assigned way to much crap for me to handle for the week school and event wise. It really sucks because almost all of the stuff I have to get done this week has been planned a while back or was assigned a while back. So really, in all retrospect my main problem is that I can't plan too well for the future.
I guess it's all part of the growing process. At least now I'm getting all of my current work and stuff done and out of the way instead of leaving it until last minute or even until it's too late. It's a big step forward for me as compared to last year where I was too busy playing video games. Back then my one and only chance was to catch up all the reading the day before and cram in as many facts/formulas/examples in my brain as possible. Lemme tell ya, it wasn't good for the brain. And now who would have thought that I'd actually be caught up on my reading 3 days before the exam, and not only that but studying the material and doing the practice problems on my own way before the exam date is instead of the day before. How times have changed...
Despite that, I'm still really anxious about these midterms coming up. For some sick reason, it seems like Grant Mac likes to start their midterms a week before a lot of the Uni courses do. So now I have a midterm already on this upcoming wednesday. And to boot, that midterm happens to be for the "Second most failed course of the campus": Accounting 311. What's even funnier is that expectedly, the First most failed course of the campus is Math 113/114: Calculus. Anyway despite the scare tactics used to make accounting seem like a course from hell, all in all it's not so bad....so far. Much of it is common sense expenses and revenues balancing, but the main thing that can get irritating is knowing where the 'special case' items go.
The other stuff that's planned for the week includes an accounting assignment due on monday, my accounting midterm, a drama party/meeting for my church, a stats assignment for friday, and 2 days of grant mac amazing race activities.
Really, when you break the week down, it doesn't seem so bad. I guess I'm more just worried about getting as many marks possible for the assignments and midterms than I am just getting them over with.
I'll blog next time about interesting topics, I swear.
