So my blog has been barren for a week or so, so what?
Ow, I just figured out that I was sitting on a pen this whole time.
Besides that, I just came back from Ryan's annual weekend getaway to his lot at Amisk Lake. It's pretty funny because I feel like one of those reality TV show characters from being one of the ppl 'selected' to go on the trip. Therefore natural feelings and obligations of adding character to the environment just arose in me. What makes it even more hillarious was the fact that I felt an obligation to be nice and suck up to everyone else who went, so I'd be able to return the year after. Wacky stuff.
Anyhow, the breakdown of the whole trip. CRAPPY CRAPPY weather! Man the weather couldn't have sucked more. This was one of the factors to attributed to feeling like a reality TV show. It almost seemed like some kind of external force was controlling the weather to be that much crappier just so it wouldn't seem like we would have fun out there. But to the contrary, despite the weather, it was a fun and enjoyable trip.
Activities pretty much included sitting around the campfire, passing around the football, quading on the dirtroads, eating junkfood, or watching olympic television/playing gamecube. Though it didn't seem much like your regular 'roughing it' camping trip, it was DAMN fun! What I realized throughout the trip is that it totally depends on who you're with, and you're attitude going into it. I'm not saying that the activities or the trip completely sucked, but just that it's so easy to get depressed from limiting weather conditions.
Pretty much a huge part of it consisted of talking around the bonfire, eating, and watching olympics. I have to say, I never really knew at all how much the Olympics can be fun to watch. I was enthralled at one point with some events that I couldn't care less about at other times. Anyhow, a REALLY great time around the campfire relaxing, looking at the stars and talking to friends about things you can't normally talk about. I think I really figured out the reason why it's so much easier to talk around a bonfire than at regular times. It's mainly because your whole sole reason for being around that fire is to be warm and talk to ppl about all kinds of things, whereas regularily you could be sidetracked with TV's and games or anything else that may get in the way. But yeah, some really good thoughts came out of my conversation with Tony and Anita, and some really great advice was shared. Thanks guys.
Some other things that have been going on lately. I've been trying to sort out my whole social/love life, and it's really helped with talking to other friends about it. Sometimes I find I get caught up in an instant about something insignificant, and the only ppl that can make you see the whole picture are your friends.
Besides that, I'm eagerly eagerly waiting for my opportunity to buy my new computer. Ahh yes my one big purchase of the summer. It works perfectly because I've been bitching and whining about how I have too much money nowadays and how I need to spend it on something. On that same note, after seeing Tony's sister's Mini I-pod from Toronto, I've been doing some window shopping for that very same I-pod. I don't really know if I'm serious about paying up to 350 bucks for easy access to music, but the cheapest deal that I've found for the I-pod mini is 325, surprisingly found at the Grant Mac bookstore. It becomes another issue of whether I necessarily need it, and how much care I'd give it. I guess we'll see how the hunt goes.
In other news, my road test is September 4th. Really, I wish I could have scheduled it for sooner, but the 4th was the earliest I could get. I think I could ace that test with how I'm driving now, but what sucks is that my road experience is slowly leaking away from days of not practicing. I guess I'll have to practice some driving with my mom sometime soon. It feels so good to have my road test scheduled while summer is still in. Just that feeling of accomplishment, knowing that something huge was done during the summer is the best feeling of the world.
I'm also working my last day at the bank on the 31st of August. So I'm really excited to be going back to relaxing in about a week and a half. I'm also planning to have some kind of plans to get everyone together for the week of September before everyone has to go back to school. So let that be a heads up to ppl who normally work to book off for.
That's it for now, I'll post again when I can.
