I thought I'd give the old bloggeroonie a quick update. No worries, I'm not gonna take this time to bitch and complain about my previous weekend, I think everyone's had enough of that including me.
So we watched Kill Bill Volume 2 on Saturday as planned. One thing I will say though is that I for one was mega disappointed. And it's really strange because from the way I looked at the movie, I expected there to be so many more ppl that were as disappointed if not more disappointed than I was. All in all, not nearly as much action or comedic shock value as the first one. They also dropped the ball on a whole bunch of cool things that the first one did to make it seem more like one of those classic martial arts movies. But then again Tony said that Tarantino meant for this one to be more of a spaghetti western.
All I really have to say is that I think it was a weak way to end the series. I see it almost as disappointed as Revolutions was for Matrix but in a completely opposite way. Don't get me wrong, it was great to see Matrix end in a totally unexpected way, and there was some really awesome action scenes in that movie. But what Revolutions lacked in my opinion was explanation of the plot and several details, and also a strong ending. While Kill Bill in the other hand was chalk full of story explanation and explanation of minor details, but lacked a strong ending and as amazing of fight sequences found in the first movie. What made me more angry was the fact that after talking to some friends at work, apparently they had to cut one of Bill's fight scenes where he kills 40 body guards. Man, what the heck were they thinking?!
Anyway, with studying still in the air, I thought I'd end with the thought process that I go through when needing to study. Maybe it's just me, but I think many ppl share this same dillemma. Inspired by previous posts of Ant and Kev.
The Studying Thought Process of Devin Hoon
Dev's Conscience: "Okay so since there's no more classes left, it's time to get cracking on those books and notes. I think we have the potential to get really good marks this year!"
Dev's Mind: "Nah I don't think we need to study. Look at how much studying those other guys are doing."
D.C: "Those are high school students you idiot! They don't have finals yet!"
D.M: "Still, I'm just saying that there are people who are studying much less than you are already. So when you compare yourself to them, it's easy for you to look good!"
D.C: "You're a fuckin idiot...."
D.M: "Hey what the hell?! That was uncalled for! Okay fine, I guess we can study."
D.C: "Friggin right! We're gonna study our ass off!"
D.M: "But first I think we need to do something fun to get it outta the way you know! Or else it's gonna distract us while we're studying and it'll be no use. Come on! Just for 15 minutes..."
D.C: "Ok ok, only 15 minutes though"
*An hour and a half go by while playing Final Fantasy 9*
D.C: "Hey wait a minute! What the hell?! You said we're gonna study, and it's been way more than 15 minutes."
D.M: "Yeah you're right, we should start studying. But hey! We need to find a save point or else all that work will be in vain!"
D.C: "Alright, I guess you're right. Next savepoint.."
D.M: (Hehehe friggin idiot...)
*Another hour goes by trying to find a savepoint*
D.C: "Finally!! What the frick?! It's been an hour! What a waste of time!"
D.M: "Alright alright just stop bitching, we'll study."
*An hour goes by of studying*
D.M: "Well I'm ready to pack it in for the night. I'm starting to tingle from actually remember things.."
D.C: "You're done after only an hour of studying? Come on pussy, let's keep going!"
D.M: "Hey don't call me a pussy! I decide when we start and when we stop, and I say we end it now. We're going to take a break atleast, or else I'm gonna hold your memory hostage and you won't be able to do ANY studying!"
D.C: "Oh my friggin gosh you piss me off sometimes! FINE! 15 minutes... What do you want to do during the break then?"
D.M: "Let's play Final Fantasy :D"
Seacrest Out.
