So I've had a pretty interesting day today, and I mean that in a good way. I'll also have to say that all of it came at a total surprise, when I thought today was gonna really suck.. I think the theme of today would be hanging out with ppl I don't normally hang out with, and forming new friendships. The following may sound really sappy and dumb, so you may not want to read it. There you've had your warning. So here's the lowdown (in short form):
The day consisted of Dim Sum with the family for lunch, then a visit to kingsway. At Kingsway, me and Tom played a few games of DDR and failed horribly on two songs. So that was kinda fun. Hmm what other stuff that happened........Linda got stuck in an elevator for 30 min. She said it wasn't funny, but I think it was :) She was actually really cool enough to meet me at Kingsway and help me shop for a birthday gift for Vanessa's party that night. So we finally got down to the nitty gritty, and I bought this 'playboy bunny' bracelet for Vanessa at Keyman's Engravables, where I met another girl named Eileen (one of Linda's family friends, and apparently a younger sister of someone I used to act with in my Jr. High production of Grease). Hehe before I started hitting on her, I confirmed the age, and it turned out that she was actually 2 years younger (aww shucks!). So the engraving was done, gift was bought, and card and gift bag were bought as well. It was time for some ice cream! Had a scoop of cookies and cream ice cream from baskin robbins (in which Linda paid for).
From then, I waited for Clarence to pick me up from the mall, and we went for some quick bubbletea at Tea Cottage. After we finished our drinks, we hurried over to Joey's Tomatos where we sat at our table for 2 solid hours before we had gotten any food. Of course, we ordered like an hour and 15 min after we got there, but the food still came there. So consequently we were treated to free appetizers from the restaurant. So we ate there, chatted in a big group for a while, and I got to know some ppl who I thought I didn't want to be associated with in the past. Some of the ppl include Noel, and Linda. But I was really happy that I decided to drop my past judgements of them, and really get to know them again.
So we finished up there, and I met some more very cool new ppl, then we went for some pool at Centennial. There we had a bunch of games, 3 in which I lost to girls because I sunk the 8 ball and the cue ball at the same time (damn that last shot!). And outta nowhere my brother showed up with Helen at the same pool place! They came in, and everything was just fun and relaxing. So then we decided to go do some gambling at The Palace Casino down at WEM after we dropped off Maggie and Vanessa back at Joey Tomato's for a ride home with their parents.
At Palace, I learnt how to play Baccarat thanks to Robert, and I spent a grand total of 5 bucks on the nickel slots. So yeah, it was just really awesome, and I lost my money in a matter of like 10 min because stupid me was betting 3 nickels PER line without even knowing it. And yeah, pretty much everyone blew all their money they came to blow, and Clarence friggin took forever with his damn quarter slot! That bastard....
Hehe so in all, I had a real blast today, and this post isn't really to entertain anyone or anything like that, but more of almost a journal entry for myself to remind myself how fun it was. So here were the basic highlights of today:
- Dim Sum Food
- DDR madness
- Linda getting stuck in an elevator.
- Meeting Eileen (she's cute)
- Ice Cream for free
- Bubbletea
- Meeting new friends
- Repairing old not so good friendships
- Great food at Joey Tomato's (especially the Garlic Toast!)
- Killing Clarence in pool.
- Schooling everyone else in pool
- Getting to know Robert some more
- Learning Baccarat
- Playing some slots
- Getting some contact info for a fun time in the future.
So yep that's pretty much it. I've concluded that all of Vanessa's friends are really cool, and that we've gotta hang out again for sure!
