Ahh the joys of school computers. While everyone is toiling and stressing themselves over midterms, here I am writing on my blog with school equipment while half doing a math exam.... Life is good... Anyhow, what is there to say? The only real reason why I'm on here to begin with is because I'm totally friggin bored, and the cafeteria is always packed during lunches leaving nowhere to sit. If only Grant MacEwan was as huge as the U of A.....
One thing I will say though is that I can't wait until reading week! At first it seemed like not such a huge deal because it was one short week before getting back into it all. Whoopdeedo..... But now after hitting the books (or so I like to say), it's a much welcome break from school work.
So right now I'm kind of just burning my lunch hour away until 1 P.M. when I'm actually allowed to workout. That's one of the dumb things I've found about this school. Not sure if you guys at the U of A have it the same as we do, but we're given specific hours in which we can come use the gym. The way it works down here is that during the peak hours (12-1, 4:30-7 P.M.), we're not allowed to go into the gym at all because all we have is the student membership. That kind of makes sense because the student membership was kind of a default cost that every student had to pay even if they didn't plan on working out at all. So naturally that would result in a lower class membership. But still, it's really kind of stupid because if I wanted to workout during the peak hours, I would have to buy a 'Gold Member' membership, which grants me access to the gym anytime. The dumb part is, even though I've already paid my fee to the gym as part of my tuition to the school, I'm still required to pay I think it was 40 bucks either for one month or the whole semester (I forget), if I wanted to get the Gold Membership. Of course, that's the regular rate in which ppl with no membership's at all pay to have an all access pass to the gym, meaning that I don't even get a slight discount for already having my student membership. I don't know, a really complicated matter....
In other news, there's a building being made in downtown right next door to the Manhattan Club. I was watching the construction of the building, and it's just amazing the kind of buildings that Man can create from scratch. I mean, these are HUGE gravity defying buildings, that are made entirely by human beings...... Oh and I got to see that huge crane thing that sits above the building finally get used. I never really understood what the whole function of that overly huge crane was until I saw it move some kind of cabinet from one side of the building, to the completely opposite side. Hehe leave it to me to find really simple everyday stuff totally fascinating and blow it's significance out of proportion......
Anyhow I think I should probably get to eating my lunch before I go workout, so that will be all for now.
