Hey, so it's been like a week and a half since I've last blogged. Of course, I blog like twice to three times as much as I did during exams than I am when it's my holiday go figure... I guess I like to put in my blogging time in expense of time I should be doing hw or studying (stuff I don't like) rather than with my fun fun time! Hehe anyhow, here goes nothing....

So what have I done since the holiday break? Well I can say atleast that I've played some video games (not very fulfilling), and that I have also watched a bunch of movies. One of them includes The Last Samurai (my new favourite movie of ALL time, for all of those who aren't sick of me saying that). It basically has GREAT action, realistic sword play, awesome costumes, a stellar cast, and all of the drama/suspense you need to make a good movie. And well it also has Tom Cruise, who also in turn kicks ass :)

Anyhow, what I've come to notice this year when we're coming to that 'magical' time again, is that ppl tend to get more lazy when they have a holiday. I mean think about it, even though this is your time to tie up all of the loose ends, and get productive, you have TONS more time than you would have had when you had prior arrangements. Thus the result ranges from looking up cool looking swords on the internet that you'll never afford, to playing old dreamcast games AND nintendo games believe it or not that you have long forgotten (well that's the way it is for me atleast :P). But anyhow, the important thing is that you get to spend time with your friends and family who were preoccupied with finals to even look at you before.

This isn't the only thing that I noticed, oh no. It happened when my brother asked me out of the blue, "Dev, what do you want for christmas? What can I get you for christmas?" And here I was trying to search for those times when I just WISHED someone would ask me that so I can blather on about my needless tendencies, but to my surprise, I could not think of a single thing. Now when I say that, I mean that I couldn't think of a single thing that was tangible, meaning material like. But what I did think of, almost instantly in fact, was one thing that I would really like. The one thing that would satisfy me at this very moment, and even leave me wanting nothing more from christmas. And that one thing ironically and pathetically enough is a girlfriend.

Now I could be wrong when I say this and correct me if I am, but I don't think I'm the only one who feels like this. With the whole rush of everyone trying to find the 'perfect' gift for their friends and families, I don't think anyone can help but ask for a companion if they don't already have one. And I really think it does come back to human nature. Though we have some very advanced technology that we could not have even dreamed of 100 years ago, I don't think ANYTHING will ever replace that space of companionship. They're the ones that keep you going when doing so seems impossible. They're the ones that make you look forward to when you're done work or school just to be in their and only their arms, and to see that smile on their face. They're really the reasons why we wake up in the morning....

Although it really does suck not having someone like that currently, I'm really happy for those of you out there that have found that kind of happiness. Just make sure that you truly appreciate the kind of bond you may have with your girlfriend/boyfriend and that they know your appreciation as well. And above all things, don't take this for granted, because that's the easiest thing to do.

That's my deep thought of the day. Christmas is lonely, but I think I'll manage with my great friends :)
