Anyhow, this whole thing is kinda new to me, so what to talk about?

Uhh well from special request from Chris, I'll give the dirt about the whole Much experience that I had about 3-4 weeks ago. well what happened was that as much of you know Muchmusic is having a nation wide VJ-search contest thingy and they just so happened to come by Grant MacEwan. Seeing their huge stage setup with a side thing with XBOX heading it, I thought it would be really cool to hang out and see what was going to happen. So during my stay there in the audience, they had a bunch of ppl go up and audition if you will for the VJ contest. I mean you had the whole variety of sorts here. There were the really crappy ppl with no Microphone skills at all, (holding the microphone 4 inches from your face, not knowing what to say/where you're looking) the crazy ppl who just came down to the campus for the event itself (one really really pale guy wore a tunic [YES A TUNIC!!] their and did his thing) and yeah.

Anyhow, between these pathetic/cool auditions of ppl, they would also hold little contests to just kill time. So one such contest was a dancing contest where ppl would have to show their moves on the stage and in front of everyone (which takes lots of guts) Anyhow haha that part was great because they had all sorts of funny moves on their, and a big fat asian guy ended up winning! (YEAH!).

But anywho, fast forward to the important part. Another contest that they held was a 'cool karaoke' contest. The difference b/w this 'cool karaoke' and regular karaoke still escapes me. Anywho, me being the regular type to think 'Hey! I should SOOO do this! And it'd be something to remember forever! Wait a minute....................that would require a spine..... Uhhh maybe not.' And after the deed is done I would regularily think 'Damn! I could have done a waaay better job! And it would have been so fun too!'. Based on those usual occurances, i decided to finally get my act together, and put my name/song on the list so there was no going back. All this while I'm trying to convince my grant mac friend Ryan Chan to sing something as well, but he decided against it over and over again. I guess i'm all alone...

So after everyone signs up for the songs they want, the whole 'competition' starts. First up was that guy I mentioned earlier with the tunic. haha he was one pale/extremely tall dude. he sang "All-star" by Smashmouth with very little response. Then it was my turn to go up, and I began to sing "I want it that way" by BSB. Now let me tell you, it takes a hell of a lotta guts to sing such a fruity song in front of a group of grown up college males. But I did it. And the funny thing about the whole ordeal was that I had actually remembered the lyrics from the song without the screen prompter. So here I was playing it up in front of the crowd, and basically directing all the 'heart' of the song to this one guy DJ (I'm not gay, it was just a joke...) Anyhow, from what I gathered, the crowd was totally into it and it ended up to be tons of fun! The guy that ended up winning was this really really funny guy who was really good at playing up the crowd and freestyle rapping. he did "Wasn't me" by Shaggy, but he didn't know the words. So he proceeded to freestyle his own lyrics into the beat, and hit on this really hot blonde DJ at the same time! Damn, I'm jealous....... Moral of the Story: If something is only once in a lifetime, take that moment to surprise yourself and go for it. Because in the end it will be ultimately rewarding...

High of that day: Watching that guy put the moves on that chick. Damn! Believe me, I had my pen and paper out for that one....

Low of that day: When during many of the songs, this really really old lady came out and starting dancing to the song (she was atleast 40). And then this college guy came out and starting grinding with her as a joke. Dude, there's a fine line b/w funny and fricken nasty, and you need to learn it....

me out
